Of the remaining London councils that hadn't declared when I stopped last night the following have now:
Brent - No Overall Controll gain from Labour
Barnet - Conservative hold
Barking & Dagenham - Labour hold
Havering - Conservative gain from No Overall Control
Hounslow - No Overall Controll gain from Labour
Southwark - No Overall Control (with Labour equalling the Lib Dem total)
Greenwich - Labour hold
That leaves Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham. According to the RESPECT website Tower Hamlets has recounts in some wards this afternoon with Labour possibly hanging on, but RESPECT are determined to force a rerun in another ward. The Lib Dems have collapsed and the Conservatives have made a long await breakthrough, building on the by-election when they won their first seat here since the 1930s and now winning seven councillors.
