A victory for common sense

A court in the US has ruled against the teaching of the theory of "intelligent design" alongside Darwinian evolution. A school board in Dover, Pennsylvania has been firmly told that their attempts to disguise their reasoning with secular arguments simply won't wash and that their attempts to impose a religious view through state education is illegal.

Now let's hope that in this country we can have an end to the attempt to impose the ghastly "one size fits all" philosophy of selection in our schools.

Hi Tim,

This isn't related to the subject under discussion (sorry) but I'm just doing the rounds apologising for my deliberately antagonistic approach to you and a select group (Henry Cook, Iain Lindley, Mark Fulford and Michael Fishwick are the other names that spring to mind) of other pro-Cameron bloggers before 06/12. I openly admit that I've been pleasantly surprised and quietly impressed by David Cameron during his first fortnight as Conservative leader - long may it continue!

Keep up the good work on your blog,

Daniel Vince-Archer
