A US Senate report has found "there is no evidence of formal links between Iraqi ex-leader Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda leaders in Iraq prior to the 2003 war". Exactly why Saddam Hussein was ever considered to be in league with Islamic fundamentalists eludes me still.
Now we'll see if this has any impact on the November US midterm elections...

Indeed. Says much for the intelligence of all those MPs who accepted the dodgy dossier. I have no sympathy for Michael Howard, et al, who winge they were "duped". The same goes for the opportunistic Democrat leadership in the US.
